1. Eliminate distractions in the environment
2. Provide all the instruments needed for the task, such as book(s), pencil, paper, eraser, counters, colored pens, etc.
3. Estimate how long it will take to complete the task.
4. Break the task into smaller parts if needed.
5. Take note of when they started, and encourage them to focus on the task for a predetermined number of minutes.
7. Give a break as needed.
8. Reward them for competing the task.
